Apprentices from Weber Verpackungen win national energy scouts competition

Lukas Böttcher and Markus Feigenspan, two of our trainees are among the national best in the "Energy Scouts" project. In Berlin, they were honored by Stefan Wenzel, Parliamentary State Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK), and Achim Dercks, Deputy Chief Executive of the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DIHK).

In their category, Lukas and Markus convinced the jury with a project to reduce compressed air requirements through automatic shutdown. In the future, WEBER Verpackungen will save a total of 20.4 tons of CO2 and 49.5 MWh of energy annually with this measure alone, which was developed by Lukas and Markus.

DIHK Deputy Managing Director Achim Dercks praised the important work of the energy scouts for their companies: "With their know-how, the scouts are in demand as never before! Because companies are facing the urgent challenge of implementing increasing climate protection requirements."

Stefan Wenzel, Parliamentary State Secretary in the BMWK: "The energy scouts prove how committed and ambitious energy efficiency and climate protection can be tackled in companies."

We as a company are justifiably proud and very happy for our trainees about this award as Germany's best energy scouts. They have thus made a great contribution towards climate neutrality and energy efficiency in our company.
